2011 has been great so far. Only big problem is these 2 kids are growing up so fast. It seems like the last few years have been in hyper speed. i can only imagine what the future will bring. FOr now I am going to enjoy every minute. We are so lucky and so blessed.

It seems like a weekend doesn't go by without a little baking around here. It warms our home and soothes my soul. Today I found a recipe at kingarthurflour.com for english muffins. I saw them on a blog made with wheat flour and decided it was worth a try.

The once little now large gremlins that live here love to eat english muffins. So the task began quite easily I must say. I didn't read their whole recipe I was looking at the blog recipe and not the king arthur one. It wasn't until I was done mixing the batter I realized I could have used the bread machine. While the dough raised I started to feel pretty darn brave and decided to try a sourdough starter. Can't say I am having good luck with that one, it is currently taking over. Maybe I should cover the starter before it takes over the counter?

I also made my favorite thing to make over the weekend Granola. Klint and I eat enough granola that I make it once a week. The kids think its gross. I remember those days I thought granola was for "old" people. I am proud to say I am one of those "old" people now. Today I tried making granola with applesauce instead of oil. I think it was lacking a special sweetness.
                                 How do you eat your granola? I like greek yogurt and blueberries.

So this is my newest experiment. I am thinking about printing this and then modge podgeing it onto a board so it looks like a canvas and raising the K & J. Cheap graphic pop art. I hope the size shows up well here.

So I have decided to post at least once a week. Best laid plans and all. Just when I think I have this camera thing mastered I am quickly stumped so just know I am trying.  I have several things that I have made that I will probably try to get on here just for the fun of it. Yes, I will also still post the ongoings of our little fam.

This past week Kyra has been seeing a chiropractor for her back. She has scoliosis. It has gotten worse. She went from a 12% to a 15% curve in 2 years. We are hoping to get her some relief. 

This is what my cousin and I spent our afternoon doing yesterday. I am soo relieved that I was able to get this on here. I am not sure if these are the photos I will use for letters just testing it out right now.  Next I will be doing one that says Klint & Jeanna in an unusual way. My camera however is about to give up any life it might have had. It is unable to focus at times and just plain shody.

  

My hopes and wishes for the New Year and reflection on 2010

     Time is going by so quickly. How did I get here a mother of an 18 year old and almost 16 year old. I often think is this my life or just a dream. 2010 brought so many new experiences to our lives. Kaden took a trip to Washington D.C., he went to EFY for the first time, he got his first job, he is senior class v.p., he turned 18, he finished his last season of high school football, and much more. Kyra busy bee that she is took drivers ed. early morning for 6 weeks, played a great soccer season for JV team, she takes stats for boys bball, she bakes treats, is liking sewing, she is finding soo many new things out about life its just fun to watch. This year we went to the beach with the kids for the first time ever. It was a quick trip but well worth it.

As I reflect on what has happened I am looking forward to what I hope will happen this coming year. I have many hopes and wishes for this coming year.

I hope to be able to start college classes

I hope to find someway to bring in more income as more is going out

I wish we could go to Hawaii

I hope Kaden is able to make all his dreams after graduation come true

I hope Kyra will be a safe driver and dater

 I hope Klint is able to find some relief from his back

I wish my backyard would magically get finished

I hope all our bills will be able to be paid

I hope my friends and family are able to enjoy this year

Most of all I hope we remain in good health and are able to soar in everything that comes our way.

All I want for Christmas

Dear Santa,
       I have been a very good girl this year. It is my true Christmas wish that my loving husband will find relief for his back pain. That my kids will feel loved from their parents know joy and laughter at home, That my close friends and family will know that we love them and that there is nothing more precious or enjoyable than just spending time together talking, laughing,and enjoying good company, I hope that those I work with will know how much I appreciate the time and energy they put into their job, I want my mom and my mother-in-law to know that they are amazing. What we have been up to..

Lately we have been snapping a few shots to capture Kaden's senior year. This is one of my favorites. It turned out better than I had hoped. I will continue to snap shots here and there and try to post them who knows I might even print a few. Usually they stay on my computer.
